Floresta Drive Improvements
Southbend Bridge to Elkcam Waterway

The Floresta Drive project consists of widening the existing 2-lane, undivided Floresta Drive to a 4-lane divided roadway, primarily within the existing 80-ft right-of-way but with some property acquisition at intersections for auxiliary lanes. SYNCHRO used to analyze the alternatives, coordinate signals and provide signal timings at the intersections. The project also included minor lighting improvements and signalization upgrades. The project is located within the City of Port St Lucie, FL from the C-24 (Southbend) Canal to Prima Vista Blvd. a distance of approximately 4 miles American produced a 3-D animated fly through with narrative which effectively showed and explained the concepts of the proposed context sensitive typical section, ponding locations and landscaping treatments, multilane roundabouts, turn lanes, and school crossings. A complete presentation was produced that effectively communicated the full scope of the project by using slides, animation clips, and narrative.
Unique to this project is the way the construction plans are being developed and how the permits are being obtained. The project, for permitting purposes is being segregated by drainage basins. However, the plans will be segregated into projects to match funding availability by category and fiscal year availability.
