American is under contract with District Four as part of a design-build team to design a weigh enforcement station. The northbound weigh-in-motion (WIM) station is located just south of CR 708 on I-95 in Martin County. Martin County requested the WIM facility be a variation of current and past scale and comfort stations already constructed. American joined with PCL Civil Constructors (PLC) on this project to provide a modern, functional, durable and safe facility. The structure is being built to withstand Florida’s harsh weather realities and be available as an Emergency Management Operation Center, when necessary. The American/PLC team is responsible for the design of all roadway, lighting, signalization, signing, markings, exterior utility design, drainage, and permitting including coordination with wildlife agencies. Additional permitting was required through Department of Environmental Protection, water management district and the Martin County Health Department.
